Statement of Faith

What I Believe:

I believe there is only one God, the God of the Bible, creator, sustainer and ruler of the universe, eternally existent in three persons - the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:1; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; John 1:1)

I believe in the deity, life and work of Jesus Christ as described in the Bible. Born of a virgin, he lived a sinless human life, willingly laid down His life as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on the cross, then rose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven’s glory and one day will return to earth to reign as King of kings and Lord of lords. John 1:1; John 10:32; Matthew 1:18-23; Luke 1:26-35; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Mark 10:45; 1 Timothy 2:5-6; Matthew 28:1-10; Acts 1:9-11; Revelation 19:11-16

I believe in the Holy Spirit of God, co-equal with the Father and the Son of God. He is the seal by whom the Father guarantees the salvation of believers , indwelling every believer from the moment they trust in Jesus Christ. He is present in the world to make people aware of their need for salvation in Jesus Christ, enables the regeneration of sin and provides the Christian with power and guidance for daily living and the ability to understand spiritual truth. He distributes Spiritual gifts and provides unity and diversity in the body of Christ. Ephesians 1:13-14; John 14:16-17; 1 Corinthians 3:16; Romans 8:9; 2 Timothy 1:14; John 16:8; Titus 3:5; John 16:12-15; I Corinthians 2:9-13; Galatians 5:16-25; 1 Corinthians 12:1-11

I believe the Bible is God’s inspired, infallible, authoritative Word, written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth and authority for Christian belief and living. 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:21

I believe humanity came into existence by direct creation of God, uniquely made in the image and likeness of God, and initially it was good. But, because of their disobedience, Adam and Eve caused sin to come into the world, resulting in their separation from God. And, because of that, everyone is born with that sinful nature and is guilty of disobeying God in thought, word and deed. Sin separates us from God and exposes us to God’s judgement. If we die in this state, we will live eternally separated from God in a real place called hell, described as a lake of fire, outer darkness, with terrible suffering, weeping and torment. Genesis 1:26-31; Genesis 3:1-24; Romans 3:23, 5:12. Luke 3:17. Romans 2:8-9; 2 Thessalonians 1:9

I believe that, because of his great love for us and his desire for us to be with him, God offers us a way to reconcile ourselves to him from the consequences of our sin. That way is through faith in the work of Jesus Christ - his life, death and resurrection. It is a free gift of God, not something that can be earned by self-improvement or good works, rather by his grace alone and through our faith in the completed work of Jesus. John 1:12-13, 3:16, 6:47; Romans 3:21-24; Titus 3:5; Ephesians 2:8-9.

I believe in the reality and personality of angels, that God created them to be His servants and messengers. Nehemiah 9:6; Psalm 148:2; Hebrews 1:14.

I believe in the existence and personality of Satan and demons. Satan is a fallen angel who led a group of angels in rebellion against God. He is the great enemy of God and man, and the demons are his servants in evil. His goal is to tempt and deceive, and people must be vigilant to resist him. He and his demons will be eternally punished in the lake of fire.  Isaiah 14:12-17; Ezekiel 28:12-15; John 8:44; John 10:10; James 4:7; Ephesians 6:12-17; 1 Peter 5:8-9; Matthew 25:41; Revelation 20:10.

I believe everyone can approach God and have a direct and personal relationship with him. 1 Timothy 2:5; Hebrews 4:14-16; Matthew 11:28-30; John 15:1-17.

I believe Jesus is now in heaven preparing a place for those who believe in Him. He will return one day to judge the world and to establish His kingdom. Acts 1;10-11; Matthew 25:31-46; John 5:24-29, 14:1-3; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Revelation 20:11-21:8.
